When I reached the scene, ‘endukku peddala’ was going on. This was the first time, I’m listening to Vijay Siva live. The neraval and swara of sankarabharanam was very good at the usual ‘vEdasasthra’. I was in for a plesent surprise when he started Anandabhairavi as the main piece. In the last 100 odd concerts attended in Bangalore, I have never heard anyone singing Anandabhairavi as the main piece. A rather short alapana, and a fast tanam. I like to listen to Anandabhairavi at a lower speed. Faster tanam did not go well with me. Alapana, Tanam and Pallavi all were short for the initial build up. Overall, it was not the best.
Here are the list of songs after I reached the venue.
