Very blissful concert. Every piece was beautifully rendered. Started with her own composition ( varNam) in navaragamalika on Ganesha, she quickly got into kAmbOji with neraval and swaras. Shubhapantuvarali was the first alapana with some beautiful phrases.  But the best was yet to come. A fantastic apalana for kEdaragaula with some moving takes , made the evening for me. B Raghuram was good in his return. Saraguna palimpa in its all grandeur with detailed swara singing, wonderfully supported by Jayachandra Rao. The percussion duo presented a good tani avartanam, especially by Jayachandra Rao, who was very impressive through out the evening.

Reetigaula RTP followed after a quick Dasar krithi. While the alapana was just ok, she excelled in the tanamwith a good support from violin. Self composed pallavi line, set to tisra triputa, in khanda gati ( a total of 35 aksharakalam) was on Ganesha.  She excused that this wasn’t prepared with the accompanying artists, and announced the scheme in advance. Trikalam was performed with some very detailed swara singing. There was no ragamalika swarams, but the elaborate reetigaula swaras compensated for the absence of ragamalika swaras. She closed her concert with a ‘manohari’ ragamalika composition of her own.  A very good concert to remember.

…. I had to leave at this point.. Nadasurabhi site will have the complete details..

At the outset, the concert was prepared meticulously and thoughtfully. However, due to the ill health of the vidushi, she wasnt been able to deliver what the list above had promised. She started the concert with an apology for her bad throat.  Physical limitation have hampered a concert, which would have been one to remember.

She showcased some of the rare, interesting krithis of dikshitar, accompanied with her commentary on the compositions. Khamas and shudhamukhari kritis were very interesting. While she struggled to give a detailed alapana, often relying on her desciple ( his name escapes me – who in turn gave a pretty decent alapana ) to complete, not venturing into neraval, moving on to few rounds of swarams.

I had to leave at the beginning of tani avartanam, and not sure what concluded the concert. I hope she will recover soon and give the same in its full effect.
