Pattabhirama Pandit gave a superb performance yesterday at the Fort School Grounds, with great support from Mysore Manjunath and Mannargudi Easwaran. The confidence and the excitement was visible from the varnam itself. Every thing fell in place. Highlights of the day was the Alapana of Thodi ( the best I’ve heard this season) and its neraval , and the swara singing of Pntuvarali and bahudhari. Mysore Manjunath was very good whenever he had his turn.
The hero of the evening was Mannargudi Easwaran. He was in his best touches. The way he lifted the overall experience with some beautiflu play with subtle fingers , especially for the bahudari was amazing.
