First concert of the year for me, and not one want to start the year with. The small room where the concert was held is overflowing and the nearby terrace was also full. The organisers arranged some chairs and a speaker outside for the late comers to partake in the proceedings. It was ‘jaya jaya janaki kantha’ welcomed me in and my disappointment started there. I liked the neraval of the Poorvi kalyani krithi and some interesting patterns during the swarakalpana of the main Madhyamavati krithi. Beyond that, there wasn’t anything I relished.
