I reached just before the main, the earlier list is with the help of Pramod and Aniyan, who was assined to be there (!) from the start.  Malladi Brothers always impresses me, and I do not miss any of their concerts in Bangalore. Yesterday , from what I heard , was another good performance.   The surprice of the day was the RTP, started late with a anticiatory bail from the singers that it is going to be a short affair. Expect for a confusion between gamanAshramam and Poorvikalyani ( Poorvikalyani is the janya of gamanashramam as I understand), it was good with the time they had ( some thing like a duckworth-lewis in concert). Ramanujacharyulu wasn’t all that impressive yesterday. Percussion department was safe in the hands of dependable K V Prasad. I like his style and the Tani Avartanam was also very good.

Thanks for the clarification.. I cant recollect the whole thing. I rate sri Ramanujacharyuku very high. May be I felt ( repeat , I Felt) there was some issues that day. May be I have wrongly attributed that to him. Will definitely take your point and the thank you very much for the insight.

I saw a comment that Ramanujacharyulu was not impressive in this concert. I think that is wrong statement.

This particular concert as I remember Malladi brothers were changing the tempo of the Talam that put off the accompaniments, especially when they put swaras. I talked to the violinist and ghatam artiste after this concert because I saw some discomfort on the stage. Then they shared some technicalities on where Malladi bros went wrong. For example Bhairavi they sung that day was wrong (For proper Bhairavi listen to some one like SSI or R K Srikanthan). Malladi bros still need to go long way.

Saying all this doesn’t mean I am down playing Malladi bros. In fact violinst commented that their selections were very good. They settled these things inside the room after the concert!
