The main krithi of the day. After a majestic alapana and a beautiful rendering, filled with sangatis on almost all lines of charanam, there was no neraval or swaras. One was expecting a set of swaras to highlight the beautiful rendering. Tani avartanam was very good with veteran ably supported by Giridhar Udupa.

09 vagaladi ( O,S )- behAg – Tirupati Narayanaswami

10 Vazhimarithirukude(?) – thODi – GKB

11 nanda gOpAla – yamunakalyANi – Muthuswami Dikshitar

12 mangaLam – yamunAkalyANi

A very good concert by T M Krishna and Team to a packed crowd of Odukathur Mutt hall. The concert will be  remembered for the variety of Raga sung , which are not not heard regularly. The best of the day came
early in the evening in the form of a superb chenchurutti. what a marvel, both the alapanas ( TMK and RKS) and the krithi that followed with neraval and swara was outstanding. Every krithi sung had either an alapana to begin with or some cracking swars to follow. Alapanas of manOranjani , sAramati and the main kAmbOji were very good and R K Sriramkumar equalled the vocalist in his replies at every instance.

    Hey Jayan,

It’s great to see a write up of the concerts. It would be even better of you probably could post the upcoming concerts for the month (assuming you know them).

    Regards,
